Sophie McKenzie has written many books, including the "Missing" trilogy. In this series, a teenage girl discovers that she was stolen from her parents when she was very young. Throughout the first book, she tries to find her true parents and obviously, there are some difficulties along the way. The story is quite scary, so don't read if you get easily freaked out! They are all quite dramatic, but I personally prefer the first as I feel that McKenzie kind of made a story out of thin air in the later books, especially by the third book. However, I would definitely recommend them.
She has also written a set of two books called "Split Second" and "Every Second Counts". These books are very exciting and are quite topical as they are about terrorism. They follow two people affected by a terrorist attack and what then happens to them. I got the first one for Christmas and then literally read it in a day. One complaint that I have is that the story flicks between two characters which can sometimes be confusing as you don't know who's perspective it is from or annoying as you want to know what happens next. They are action packed with a little bit of romance thrown in, however it doesn't affect the storyline which I think is quite important as sometimes romance can become the centre of a story that isn't based on romance. Overall, very good and will suck you in!
I also enjoyed two of her other series: "Blood ties" and "the Medusa Project", which are both very good. What I like about all of these series is that they are aimed at either male or female readers. Quite often, authors can write gender specific books, but all of the series that I have read (maybe "Girl Missing" not so much) have had strong male and female main characters which I feel is important. I haven't read all of her books, but the ones that I have read, I have greatly enjoyed.
